Imagine a tiny burner camp without the dust: a small group of dedicated people co-creating a week of meditation, movement, and play.
We practice together, cook together, take care of the space together, and (optionally) share what we're learning over meals.
If that sounds like fun: same.
What this is
A peer-to-peer, self-organized retreat inspired by burner culture, aimed mostly at:
- Meditation (daily sits, optional silence blocks)
- Yoga / breathwork
- Contact improv jam (consent-first)
- Ecstatic dance / movement
- Shared practices, skillshares, small rituals
- Nature, rest, sauna vibes if available
Small on purpose: aiming for 10-15 people.
What we mean by "peer-to-peer"
No guru, no staff, no "we serve you".
We (the hosts) hold the container and logistics, but the retreat works because:
- Participants bring their own practice maturity
- People propose/host sessions (or help others host)
- Everyone contributes to chores and care
We will set up lightweight structure (below), and we’ll be around for safety/logistics. But the culture is co-created.
The Vibe
Burner-ish values, applied to a practice week:
- Participation + Gifting: Teach a thing, cook a meal, run a warmup, hold a jam.
- Communal Effort: Chores are part of practice.
- Radical Self-Responsibility: Own your experience.
- Consent Culture: Especially for touch practices.
- Leave No Trace: Clean as we go.
- Playful, but not sloppy.
This is not a party-first event, and not a "drop in and be entertained" retreat.
Structure
Enough to work, not enough to kill it. Plan for something like:
- Morning anchor practice (meditation / yoga)
- Daily open-space board (people propose sessions)
- One shared work block (kitchen/clean/wood/water/etc)
- Movement/jam/dance blocks (with clear consent rules + quiet hours)
- Optional silence blocks (e.g., nights + mornings)
Who this is for
People who:
- Can take care of themselves (sleep, food, pacing, boundaries)
- Can collaborate and do chores without drama
- Understand consent and can say "no" cleanly
- Like practice, not just vibes
- Are good in small community for a week
Not for:
- People expecting a teacher-led retreat
- People who need a lot of emotional containment from others
- People who don’t respect boundaries / quiet hours / shared agreements
Logistics
Dates
Main retreat: Sept 7-13
Optional early arrival: Sept 4-6 (setup, settling, co-creating the first draft schedule)
Location
Italy, mountains/countryside (details shared after sign-up interest, to keep it small + intentional). Expect meadows + indoor common space. Camping likely, limited indoor spots.
Money (Rough Framing)
This will be at-cost cost sharing, not a profit retreat.
Costs depend on group size and what we build (food model, toilets, sauna/yurt, etc). Expect a transparent spreadsheet and shared accounting.
Practical Policies
We'll keep these simple and explicit:
- Consent policy: Opt-in touch, verbal check-ins, "no" is complete.
- Photo policy: Default no photos of people without explicit consent.
- Substances: Decide upfront and keep it consistent (practice weeks die when this is fuzzy).
- Conflict: We’ll have a simple process and a named point person.
